Soul Quest offers its church members ceremonial retreats for healing and personal evolution, with one of the most powerful shamanic medicines on the planet and with a professional and psychotherapeutic approach that is reaching thousands of people from all over the world, providing conclusive answers and real solutions to their problems. We have no hierarchy in relationships between medicine man/ woman, facilitators, and guests. We believe we are all on our own unique path of understanding and healing and that we have so much to offer one another in that process. We believe that our way of symbolizing, celebrating and honoring the Spirit embraces all people and transcends all cultural boundaries. As such we welcome people of all faiths and religions, scientists and doctors, atheists and agnostic’s, to our retreat at Soul Quest  Our CERMONAIL RETREATS, combining Sacred Plant Medicine and psychotherapy, are encounters for people seeking personal growth through the evolution of their consciousness. Bearing in mind that no human development is sustainable, unless it grows from the root, and that everything that is resolved at a deep level is maintained. This is a retreat because it is a “residential cohabitation” and lasts in most cases 3 days and 2 nights, but it’s also possible to come for just one night If you are a regular member and there is room available. It usually runs from Friday to Sunday, and there are up to 4 Sacred Plant Medicine sessions over the course of the weekend, with psycho- therapeutic work before and after each session. (In some cases there are retreats that lasts up to 11 days).

In this weekend encounter we share a number of psycho- therapeutic approaches, group dynamics and psycho-emotionalexercises that serve as preparation and integration for the Sacred Plant Medicine sessions being offered. As a whole, all the activities are aimed at awakening consciousness, overcoming limitations and encouraging the transformation of the life of every participant. The mode of “cohabitation” provides many moments during the retreat for opening inner spaces and working in depth on whatever arises; the surprise is the magic that allows what is hidden to spontaneously rise to the surface.

The accompaniment is professional and highly experienced. The facilitators are part of an international team who prepare permanently by visiting shamans and update themselves by conducting private retreats for their own training. The Soul Quest team has facilitators, therapists and collaborators from Spain, Argentina, Colombia, England, Switzerland, Italy, Venezuela USA and Germany. These retreats are guided and supervised by a minimum of 4 facilitators with extensive experience in profound work with Sacred Plant Medicine of great transformative power.

The Sacred Plant Medicine

We use indigenous ancestral medicine of high quality and purity, which is of paramount importance for these processes, brought by members of the team from the Brazilian jungle. The medicine is made by shamans in its place of origin with mature plants and using the traditional master formula, with nothing added or altered. We consider it risky to take equivalent plants or those that have additives intended to enhance its effects. The purity and quality of the Sacred Plant Medicine is very important for the healing processes we offer. We do not charge for the medicine, but for the work of accompaniment and supervision, for meals and accommodation, and for the translation of the facilitators from the country in which you are staying.

Founder/Spiritual Guide and Medicine Man

Chris Young and his wife Verena Young founded Soul Quest Church of the Mother Earth in September 2013.  Soul Quest’s purpose is to protect the practice of North and South American Spiritual traditions, spiritual ceremonies, sacred practices and natural healing ways.

At a young age, Chris heard the call to be of service to humanity and in 1996 he became certificate in Phlebotomy and Medical assisting where he worked in a gero-psychiatric unit dealing with the study, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders with the elderly.

In 1997 Chris went back to school to study Emergency Medicine and received an  EMT certificate and began working as an Emergency Room Tech at a local Hospital. After several years working in the medical field and seeing the profit focused side of western medicine, Chris decided to move to Germany and spent three years studying Alternative Medicine.  In Europe, Chris gained extensive experience working with Sacred Plant Medicines and their ritualistic ceremonial traditions.

Chris discovered his spiritual passion for Ayahuasca.  After attending countless Ayahuasca religious ceremonies,  he realized his true calling … to bring sacred plant medicine back to his homeland – the United States.  In a visionary state, he was instructed to build an Ayahuasca Church, peach from the Ayahuasca Manifesto and bring the miraculous healing medicine of the sprit of Ayahuasca to folks back home. Chris and Verena chose Orlando, Florida to be ground zero for the Ayahuasca Church because of its perfect climate and easy access to its international airports.

For the first year Soul Quest Church of the Mother Earth operated out of a charming sanctuary in downtown Orlando called True Serenity.   At True Serenity, Chris and Verena were able to begin offering healing ceremonies church services on a smaller scale.   One year later, Chris and Verena purchased the 4.5 acres of land that now houses Soul Quest Church of the Mother Earth – a 5000 sq ft Ayahuasca church and healing retreat center.  Soul Quest offers weekly church services on Sundays and a weekly healing support group via phone and web cast.

Chris is responsible for handling the administration activities of the church as well as organizing all aspects of the healing retreats. Chris is also actively involved in all Sacred Plant Medicine Ceremonies as the Medicine Man.

Chris is supported by a number of traveling shamans (curanderos) and trained facilitators who provide nurturing guidance and unconditional loving support for all church members.

Ryan LeCompte, B.A.

Military Liaison/Facilitator

With the experience gained from his connection in his community both in the United States and abroad, Ryan has developed a practical working model that helps patients suffering from addiction and trauma that gives them the ability to integrate their sometimes difficult and sometimes “enlightening” experiences gained under the influence of ayahuasca. Ryan believes that peak experiences hold the key to recovery in regards to many forms of mental illness, but that the real work begins not on the mountain, but in the valley. (Interpersonal/Intrapersonal relationships, etc) He believes recovery and quality of life is a matter of altering consciousness, and working with crisis and trauma at the root may prove effective.
